Venezuela’s Maduro Cuts Ties With US For Recognising ‘Rebel’ President

Nicolas Maduro, Venezuelan President, has broken relations with the United States of America, after it recognized opposition leader, Juan Guaidó, as interim leader.

Maduro has given US diplomats 72 hours to leave the country, but the US said the “former president” no longer had the authority to order them out.

Opposition leader, Guaido, On Wednesday, declared himself president during a rally that became a mass protest.

Thousands of people attended the rally in support of Guaidó, who is the head of the opposition-controlled National Assembly.

He told the crowd that protests would continue “until Venezuela is liberated”.
