As Nigerians rush to beat the deadline of Monday (today) to collect their Permanent Voters Card (PVC) ahead of the 2019 general elections, it seems some unscrupulous officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) are taking advantage of Nigerians’ hastiness to complete the process.
At the office of the Ojo Local Government Area, an alleged INEC official was seen by our correspondent collecting money between N500-N1,000 from prospective voters in order to facilitate the quick issuance of their PVCs.
He was seen numerous times going to the office building and returning outside with the PVCs of people who had handed him the bribe.
Our correspondent, who secretly filmed the collection process, talked to the alleged official hoping that he would provide more information and facilitate the issuance of a PVC, but is yet to make contact as at the time of filing this report.
