Army Appoint New Spokesperson, Other Administrative Officials


The Nigerian Army has announced the appointment of Colonel Sagir Musa as the acting Director, Army Public Relations.

Musa’s appointment was contained in a communication announcing the redeployment of senior officers of the Nigerian Army.

The new spokesperson, whose prior appointment was being the spokesman of 82 Division, Enugu, replaces Brigadier-General Sani Usman, who voluntarily retired from the service on Thursday.

Also announced is the posting of Colonel A.A. Yusuf, the Chief of Security in the Directorate of Army Public Relations, who is now to serve as Deputy Director, Public Relations, 82 Division Nigerian Army.

Colonel A. D Isa was posted to Theatre Command Operation Lafiya Dole as Deputy Director Army Public Relations, while Colonel Onyema Nwachukwu, who was the spokesman of the Theatre, moves to the Defence Headquarters, Abuja, as acting Director Defence Information.

Others affected by the posting is Brigadier General N.J. Okah, of the Nigerian Army Institute of Technology and Environmental Studies, who has now been posted to the Army Headquarters Department of Army Logistics as acting Director of Engineering Services.

Brigadier General M.A. Masanawa moves from Army Headquarters, Department of Army Policy and Plans to ACADA as Commander; while Brigadier General H.T. Wesley from Headquarters Nigerian Army Ordinance Corps has now being assigned to the Army Headquarters Department of Army Logistics, as Director Clothing and Store.

Brigadier General H.G. Tafida was redeployed from the Nigerian Army Central Workshop to Army Headquarters Department of Army Logistics, as Director Engineering and Maintenance.

Brigadier General B.A. Ilori has been posted to Army Headquarters Department of Army Policy and Plans and appointed Deputy Director Equipment Procurement.

Also affected is Brigadier General A.A. Adereti, who is now the Directing Staff of the National Defence College; while the new acting Corps Commander Nigerian Army Medical Corps is Colonel S. Adama.

Others affected included Colonel O.G. Olaniyi who has been redeployed from the Nigerian Army School of Music to Nigerian Army Band Corps as acting Director Army Band; while Colonels E.I. Okoro I.P. Bindul were posted to Army War College Nigeria as Directing Staff.
