Barcelona left-back, Jordi Alba, has signed a new five-year-deal at the club. The deal will see him remain at the Catalan club until 2024.
Barcelona announced Alba’s contract extension on their official website on Thursday.
“FC Barcelona and Jordi Alba have reached an agreement to renew his contract for the next five seasons, until June 30, 2024,” a statement by the club reads. “The buyout clause is set at €500M.”
“Over the course of the next few days, we will announce when the official signing of the new contract will be held.”
Alba returned to Barcelona in 2012 for his second spell, after playing in the popular La masia from 1998 to 2005.
He has won four La Liga and Copa del Rey titles, as well as one Spanish Super Cup, one UEFA Champions League and one FIFA Club World Cup since 2012.
He made his senior international debut in 2011 for the La furia Roja, and was in the Spanish team that won the 2012 European Championship.
