President Muhammadu Buhari has declared that his administration has fought corruption to a standstill and also improved the economic fortunes of the country.
President Buhari said this at the presidential campaign rally of the All Progressives Congress (APC), held in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital on Monday.
The president recalled the level that the country had attained before assuming into office and gave the crowd a report card of the current level of development.
He stated that he has fulfilled his promise of fighting corruption and improving the economy three and the half years after being elected as president.
He said: “I will continue to remind you of where the country was when we came in, where we are now, what we have done and where we are going.
“I assure you of my undertaken in 2015 – fight against corruption, provide security and economic development.”
President Buhari stated that his administration would continue to fight against the vice, despite the fightback that the affected persons have mounted.
Speaking earlier, Adams Oshiomhole, APC National Chairman, said the oppression of Kwarans by the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will end at the February 16 and March 2 polls respectively.
Making reference to the “O to ge” (Enough is Enough) slogan of the APC in the state, Oshiomhole said the liberation of Kwara State is near at hand.
“The days of oppression are over,” he said.
He thanked the people for defying the political naysayers in the state by coming out en masse to express their support for President Buhari and all the APC candidates in the state.
