Juventus forward, Cristiano Ronaldo, could risk being suspended from his side’s next Champions League game, due to the obscene gesture he made during his celebration against Atletico Madrid, a report says.
Diego Simeone, the Spanish side’s coach, had made similar gesture during their first leg tie against the Italian giants at the Wanda Metropolitano three weeks ago. He was later fined by UEFA’s disciplinary panel after proving that the gesture was not targeted at Juventus’ fan.
La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Ronaldo’s imitation of Simeone action while celebrating against Atletico on Tuesday, has now put the former Real Madrid star in trouble.
According to the Italian paper, UEFA will open an investigation on Ronaldo’s celebration.
Although he is likely to also only receive a fine as the Argentine coach, if it could be proven that the gesture was not directed towards Atletico Madrid fans. Otherwise, the player could be banned for the next Champions League game.
