The presidential election petition tribunal has granted President Muhammadu Buhari and the All Progressives Congress (APC), his party, access to inspect the materials used for the presidential election.
The tribunal gave the order sequel to an ex parte motion filed by the President’s counsel.
The president and the APC, through their lawyers, argued that they needed to inspect the materials in order to defend themselves in the case of a petition.
Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), was granted similar request on March 6 by the three-man panel led by Abdu Aboki.
Atiku is challenging the outcome of the election that held on February 23. Buhari had polled 15,191,847 votes to defeat his opponent who got 11,262,978 votes.
