A tanker explosion has reportedly two people in the Onipepeye end of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
Reports say the explosion occurred while some people were scooping petrol from the tanker which had fallen on Thursday.
The tanker, which was coming from Lagos, reportedly fell after the driver lost control while trying to avoid ramming into a Nissan Micra car.
Six vehicles and 10 motorbikes were burnt in the incident.
However, Olugbenga Fadeyi, the state police spokesman, said four vehicles and two motorbikes were affected. He added that two people, a man and a woman, were burnt beyond recognition.
A resident of the area said the fire service took about 45 minutes to arrive the scene. He said they could have saved the deceased if they had arrived earlier.
