28 Persons Identified, Quarantined After Contact With Coronavirus Patient In Ogun

About 28 persons have been identified and quarantined in Ogun State, following contacts with the Italian, who is Nigeria’s first case of Coronavirus.

The Italian citizen, who works in Nigeria, recently returned from his country, Italy, on February 25, 2020, was confirmed to have the deadly disease, also known as Covid-19 virus, by Dr. Osagie Ehanire, minister of health, on Friday.

Dapo Abiodun, the Ogun State governor, who confirmed the latest development to journalists, said the company where the Italian had visited in Ewekoro has been shut down, while two isolation centres have been identified, Channels Television reports.

Abiodun added that surveillance centres have been reactivated in all the 20 Local Government Areas of the state, as well as at the Olabisi Onabanjo Teaching Hospital in Sagamu, in case of an outbreak.
