Abducted Daura District Head Finally Regains Freedom

Musa Umar, the Magajin Garin Daura (District Head of Daura), has finally regained his freedom two months after he was abducted.

Umar, who was abducted at his residence in Katsina State on May 1, was rescued in Kano State on Tuesday.

Tukur Umar, younger brother to Umar, confirmed that the traditional ruler was rescued at about 7:25 am on Tuesday.

The younger Umar disclosed that his elder brother was rescued by a combined team of security operatives at a building along Madobi road in Samagu quarters close to Sani Abacha Youth Center, Kano.

“He was rescued in good condition of health and any moment from now he may be in Daura to be reunited with his family. Alhamdulillah, God has answered our prayers,” Tukur Umar said.

Gambo Isah, Public Relations Officer, Katsina State Police Command, also confirmed the rescue of the Magajin Garin Daura.

“Magajin Garin Daura has been rescued. Congratulations to the entire people of Daura and Katsina state in general. Details follows”, Isah, a Superintendent of Police, said.

Umar, who is also the father-in-law to Mohammed Abubakar, the Aide-de-camp (ADC) to President Muhammadu Buhari, was kidnapped in front of his residence.

The freed abductee is a retired comptroller of the Nigerian Customs Service.
