The Super Eagles of Nigeria will face defending champions, Cameroon on Saturday in the round of 16 at this year’s Africa Cup of Nations.
The pairing for the knockout stage between both teams was confirmed after Cameroon drew 0-0 against Benin Republic on Tuesday to finish second in Group F behind Ghana.
The Eagles also finished second in Group B after their shock 2-0 loss to debutants, Madagascar on Sunday.
The last time the Eagles faced Cameroon at the AFCON was in the quarter-final of the 2004 edition in Tunisia.
Goals from Austin Okocha and John Utaka, saw the Eagles come from a goal down to win 2-1.
Also during the qualifiers for the 2018 FIFA World Cup, the Eagles thrashed Cameroon 4-0 in Uyo and drew 1-1 in Yaounde, before clinching the ticket for the tournament.
