The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has announced the amount of money players and coaching crew of the Super Eagles will earn per match at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
Osasu Obayiuwana, a member of the Nigeria Football Federation’s Reforms Committee, told Sports Extra that each player would get a total of $95,000 (N29.2 million) while Rohr would get $190,000 (N58.1 million) if the team wins the title.
Breaking down the sum, Obayiuwana said the players would get $10,000 (N3.05 million) for their 1-0 win over Burundi while Rohr will get double.
They will get $20,000 (N6.1 million) if they win their remaining Group B matches against Guinea and Madagascar.
The players will receive $12,500 (N3.8 million) for a victory in the round of 16.
The Eagles will get $15,000 (N4.6 million) and $17,500 (N53.5 million) respectively for victories in the quarter-final and the semi-final, while a win in the final will see the three-time AFCON winners earn a $20,000 (N6.1 million) as match bonus.
“Group stage wins: $10k; Round of 16: $12.5k; QF: $15k; SF: $17.5k. And if they win the final: $20k. So, each player would earn $95,000 for winning AFCON2019,” a member of the Nigeria Football Federation’s Reforms Committee, Osasu Obayiuwana, disclosed.
He added that while Rohr gets double what players earn, goalkeeper trainer and assistant coach would get 75 percent of Rohr’s earning. The backroom staff will get 75 percent of what the players earn.
The Eagles, apart from playing for six points, will have $20,000 bonus at stake when they face Guinea in their next Group B game in Alexandria.
