Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi state has expressed his condolence on the death of Rep. Umar Buba Jibril, the deputy majority leader of the House of Representatives.
Until his death, Jibril represented Lokoja/Kogi federal constituency.
Bello said the deceased’s “life is a book for anyone aspiring for greatness to read”.
“A successful politician, the late Rt Hon. Buba Jibril was a lesson in positivism; a man who chose to take his destiny in his hand on several occasions.
“He will be remembered for his astuteness and purposeful leadership as well as his philanthropic life and service to humanity,” said the governor who also described Jibrin as a
“hero and indomitable grassroots commander.”
More so, the House of Representatives in a statement its Speaker, Yakubu Dogara, said the deceased was “an upright man, a leader per excellence, a patriotic, committed hardworking lawmaker and a worthy representative”. Jibrin died in the early hours of Friday after suffering a protracted illness.”
He is expected to be buried same day in Lokoja after the Juma’at prayer.
