Benue State Declares Fridays Work-Free

The Benue State Government has declared Fridays work-free starting from 11 November. The government said the decision was taken to allow civil servants harvest their farm produce.

It was announced in a statement issued by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and ICT, Tahav Agerzua. He said the decision was taken during the state’s executive meeting which was presided over by the governor, Samuel Ortom.

“The state executive meeting approved that Friday every week be work-free days beginning from November 11, 2016 to end of January next year to enable civil servants harvest the produce in their farms.

“However, some workers in the education sector were exempted, maintaining the school calendar should run normally,” he said.
