Boko Haram Abducts Soldier, Three Aid Workers In Borno

Some Boko Haram fighters have abducted a soldier and three aid workers in Borno State.

Premium Times reports that the incident happened while the victims were travelling from Maiduguri to Monguno in the northern part of the state.

The terrorists were said to have spared only the driver of the vehicle, taking others hostage.

“They forcefully disarmed the soldier and took away three other aid workers, but left the driver of the vehicle,” an operative of Civilian-JTF who asked not to be named was quoted to have said.

“Two of the civilians work with NGO and one with SEMA, but I am not at liberty to mention the name of the NGO – that’s the warning we received from the security agents investigating the matter,” the source added.

Yabawa Kolo, Chairperson of the Borno State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) confirmed the incident. She said the matter has been reported to the police and other security agencies.
