Boko Haram Fighters Attack Chibok, Burn Many Houses

Boko Haram has attacked Korongilum, a community in Chibok Local Government Area of Borno State, on Tuesday night.

TheCable reports that the insurgents stormed the community around 6pm and set many houses on fire. A resident who spoke to the medium said other residents were returning from their farms when the attack occurred.

A military source said troops from the Nigerian Army’s 28 task force brigade and 117 battalion, both headquartered in Chibok, said the brigade and battalion commanders led the onslaught.

Last week, the insurgents had attacked passengers in Auno, Borno State, killing 31 people.
