Bollywood actor, Kushal Punjabi, has committed suicide at the age of 37, leaving a note for his three-year-old son, Kian.
The actor’s body was found at his home in Pali Hill, Mumbai, on Thursday night, with Police saying he died by hanging.
Kushal, who described himself on Instagram as “Dancing daddy” and a “travel/adventure/fitness junkie”, had left a note at his address, asking his family to divide his assets between his parents and sister.
He further said half of his estate should go to his little boy.
Kian appeared in his dad’s last Instagram post, which the actor published on Christmas Eve.
The cartoon-style image showed Kushal cuddling Kian, which he captioned with two simple love-heart emojis.
According to local media, Kushal’s body was found at his home and was rushed to Bhabha Hospital.
But he was declared dead by doctors, after attempts to revive him failed.
Police sources say a note was found inside his home addressed to his son, and no other suspicious items were found.
Kushal had recently completed an obstacle race with a dislocated shoulder. Officials have filed an Accidental Death Report pending further investigation.
Meanwhile, Bollywood has reacted with shock to the star’s death, with fellow actor Karanvir Bohra writing:
“Your demise has shocked the hell out of me. I’m still in denial, Kushal Punjabi. I know you are in a happier place, but this is unfathomable. The way you lead your life really inspired me in more ways than one…. but what was I to know.
“Your zest for dancing, fitness, off-road biking, fatherhood and above all that, that smiling face of yours, your happy-go-lucky nature your warmth all that was such ingenuity. I’m gonna miss you so much #kushlani. You will always be remembered as a guy who lived a full life.”
Other Bollywood stars have been paying their tributes to the deceased actor.
His last appearance on screen was in the television series, Ishq Mein Marjawan, and he had also starred in the Bollywood films such as Lakshya and Kaal.
Kushal was also survived by his wife, Audrey Dolhen.
