Buhari Fails To Submit Ministerial List, As Senate Resumes Tuesday

Against expectations that President Muhammadu Buhari would forward his ministerial list to the senate when it reconvened on Tuesday, it was not so. A Tuesday morning meeting between Senate President Bukola Saraki and Senator Ita Enang, the president’s aide on National Assembly Matters, spurred speculations the senate might have received the list. But the hope vanished when it became clear the ministerial list was not one of the four executive bills from the president to the senate. The executive bills sought confirmation for the appointments of Tunde Fowler, Felix Chukwu and Professor Umar Garba Danbata, heads of the Federal Inland Revenue Service, FRSC, Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, and Nigerian Communication Commission, NCC, in that order. The president also sought approval for $200 Million being the second tranch of the $600 Million World Bank loan for Lagos state.
