Buhari Sympathises With Zimbabwe Over Mugabe’s Death

President Muhammadu Buhari has sympathised with the government and people of Zimbabwe over the passing of her former president, Robert Mugabe.

President Buhari offered his condolence in a statement issued by Femi Adesina, his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, on Friday.

The president recalled that the late leader fought for the independence of his country from colonial rule and lived most of his life in public service.

According to him, the late Zimbabwean’s sacrifices, especially in the struggle for the political and economic emancipation of his people, will always be remembered by posterity.

He prayed that the Almighty God will grant the soul of the former president rest and comfort his loved ones.

Mugabe, Zimbabwe’s first post-independence prime minister and later president, died on Friday in Singapore, aged 95.
