Shehu Sani, former Kaduna Central Senator, has charged President Muhammadu Buhari to stop giving excuses in the war against Boko Haram terrorists, saying his promise to rout the insurgents brought him to power in 2015.
Sani moted this while recounting one of Buhari-led All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign manifesto in 2015, which was to proffer solution to the country’s security challenges.
The former lawmaker in a tweet, stated that Nigerians voted Buhari on the promise that he would perform miracles in the area of insecurity.
“Insecurity was the major factor used for the ejection of the past administration and the most attractive reasons for the installation of the present one; Those who promised to perform instant miracles should not deny or give excuses of not having the magic wand,” he wrote.
Sani’s call is coming at a time Boko Haram terrorists are on rampage in the North-East, while kidnappers have also made the county unsafe.
The terrorists about two weeks ago, attacked Auno, a community near Maiduguri, in Borno State, and burnt 30 people to dead.
Following the attack, Buhari paid a sympathy visit to Maiduguri, shortly after which the insurgents attacked another settlement hours after he left
On Friday, the leader of the sect, Abubakar Shekau, threatened Buhari not to return to the state again.
