CAF Fines Nigeria $5000 For Stadium Insecurity

Confederation of African Football, CAF, has fined Nigeria the sum of $5,000, for overcrowding and lack of security during their 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Egypt in Kaduna.

CAF imposed the fine at a disciplinary meeting in Johannesburg in South Africa and threatened that sanctions will be applied if repeated. It was reported that more than 40,000 spectators crowded the 15,000-capacity Ahmadu Bello Stadium in the state on 29th of March to watch the match, which ended in a 1-1 draw.
