Prophet Temitope Joshua, the General Overseer of the Synagogue Church Of All Nations (SCOAN), he needs to get instructions from God before reopening the church for services.
Joshua disclosed this while speaking on SCOAN’s Emmanuel TV on Wednesday in reaction to the decision of the Lagos State government to lift the ban on religious gatherings beginning from Friday.
The Federal Government had placed a ban on religious gatherings last March to limit the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 announced the lifting of the restrictions on 2 June, but the Lagos State government asked that places of worship remain shut to the increase in COVID-19 cases.
But following the latest decision, Joshua commended Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s decision to reopen places of worship.
The cleric, however, told his followers that as soon as God speaks, he would let them know when physical services will resume.
“Good morning and win today! Following the announcement that church services will resume in Lagos on August 9th, 2020 – that is, this coming Sunday – I wish to commend the authorities for their efforts so far.
“However, having heard from the authorities, we are now waiting to hear from God. Please be assured that as soon as we hear from God, we will inform you when our services will resume. Emmanuel – God is with us,” he said.
