COVID-19: Apologise To Kogi People For Misleading Them, PDP Spokesman Tells Bello

Kola Ologbondiyan, National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has said Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State must apologise to the people of the state for misleading them.

He said this in a statement on Monday after Bello ordered a lockdown of Kabba Bunu Local Government Area of the state after it emerged the index case lived there.

Ologbondiyan said Bello should have been open and allowed testing to be carried out in the state. He said rather than face the battle against the pandemic, Bello spent time on his treadmill and shadow boxing.

He accused Bello of not funding the committee he set up to fight the pandemic, adding that he also did not distribute palliatives as done by other states.

Bello had insisted that his state was COVID-19 free, accusing the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) of manufacturing numbers in the state.
