Don’t Allow Neymar Join Another Club, Rivaldo Urges Barcelona Board

Barcelona legend, Rivaldo, has urged the club’s board not to watch while Neymar join another club, as the summer transfer deadline in Europe approaches.
He insisted that the Paris Saint-Germain forward cannot be allowed to join a rival club.
Real Madrid and the Catalan club have been out-bidding eachother, in order to bring the Brazilian back to Spain.
Neymar has not played for PSG this season, since his decision to quit the club this summer and return to Barcelona, whom he left in 2017 for world-record fee of €222 million.
However, the Ligue 1 champions have rejected offers submitted for him by the La Liga champions, which encouraged Real to attempt to also sign the former Santos’ star.
The Madrid-based club are said to be tempting PSG with talented youngster, Vinicius Jr., which reports say could give them an edge over Barcelona in the deal.
“I hope Barcelona’s president (Josep Maria Bartomeu) and the board don’t let Neymar go to another club,” Rivaldo said in an Instagram post on Tuesday.
The 47-year-old, who was a key figure at  Barcelona from 1997 to 2002, said his compatriot shouldn’t have been allowed to leave the club two years ago.
“His departure from Barcelona was wrong. He should never have left one of the biggest clubs in the world. But he is eager to return and take responsibility for what he did,” he added.
Neymar has scored 48 goals in 54 appearances for the French club, but his career there has been marred by injuries and suspensions.
