He accused the party leadership of forcing Obaseki on delegates.

He said: “I won’t sacrifice 16 years of labour, 16 years of defeat, 16 years of Godfathers’ plot, 16 years of huge followership, 16 years of feeding the weak of the Edo people, 16 years of scholarships, fighting hunger, paying medical bills of Edo people.

“I’m not going to step down, that is not true, that is what President Trump in US will call fake news. I remain in the race and i’m going to win tomorrow by God’s grace”.

He boasted that he will defeat Obaseki in the party exercise, saying he is ready to go as far as laying down his life for democracy.

“Obaseki will be beaten tomorrow. It is a race between the Godfathers and the delegates. Democracy must be defended, it is about democracy. I’m not going to submit my dreams of 16 years of struggle, just for the pressure of the Godfathers. It is not going to happen.

“The Godfathers are tiny in number, insignificant. They always laud it over the people. We know that the delegates must have been tampered with and everything tailored to favour Obaseki.

“I’ve told the delegates, it is not about me or you, it is about the future of our country. Obaseki will fall, he will be beaten silly. Except they all kill everyone of us in the stadium, I’m ready to die, if they want to kill me tomorrow, let them kill me. I’m ready to pay the supreme price for Nigeria’s democracy,” Imasuagbon also said.
