However, President Muhammadu Buhari reversed the suspension for “lack of due process”, according to a letter from the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation on Monday.

The letter, according to the UN spokesperson, was also addressed to Amina Mohammed, the UN Deputy Secretary-General, indicating that the president has Ogunbiyi’s resignation from the REA with effect from December 31.

“The Government of Nigeria has publicly communicated and also informed the United Nations that the suspension of Ogunbiyi was reversed.

“Accordingly, she has begun her appointment at the United Nations as of January 1,” Haq told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
