Manchester United defender, Harry Maguire, is optimistic the Red Devils will have another chance to hit form when they face Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday in a Premier League fixture.
The England defender expressed frustration at the team’s recent slip in form, saying a go at the Jose Murinho-led Spurs is a chance for them to find an elusive victory.
United have endured their worst start to a Premier League season since 1988/89 season, garnering just 18 points from 14 matches to remain rooted to the ninth position.
The side drew 2-2 to Aston Villa on Sunday, their second draw from a winning position. However, Maguire thinks their current form will be a motivation when they face the rejuvenated Spurs.
“We got ourselves in a great position in the second half (against Villa) and again conceded a sloppy goal really,” Maguire told MUTV.
“As a defender especially, it’s frustrating,” he added. “We haven’t really conceded many chances or goals prior to the last two games and then we’ve conceded five.”
“It’s perfect. When you don’t win any football match you want a game as soon as possible to put things right,” he said.
“And there’s no better way than to play Tottenham here at Old Trafford”.
