A fan created pandemonium recently when he ran on stage, rushing Beyonce and Jay Z while the couple were performing in Atlanta. The fan is currently facing criminal charges, reports say. Lisa Bender, Atlanta Police Officer told the Associated Press that 26-year-old Anthony Charles Maxwell was initially cited for disorderly conduct and released on the night of the show. Police have since added a charge of simple battery. Maxwell allegedly made physical contact with rapper Jay-Z before he was stopped by backup dancers and security people. While Maxwell was treated for minor injuries after the incident, no other injuries were reported. The chaos began as Beyoncé and Jay-Z were ending their performance of “Apeshit” at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium. As the couple turned to head backstage, Maxwell jumped on stage and attempted to follow them. After being initially stunned into confusion, backup dancers for the show immediate sprung into action and stopped Maxwell from advancing any further. He was then tackled by security. Multiple fans caught the incident on videos that were widely shared across social media. Yvette Noel-Schure, Beyoncé’s publicist, said via Instagram Sunday morning that the couple was fine and looking forward to performing at their next show.
