Femi Fani-Kayode, a former minister, has been bashed for offering 300 Nigerians scholarships to a university in Republic of Benin.
The Peoples Democratic Party chieftain had announced last week that he was offering scholarships to 300 Nigerians students to a top private university in Africa.
However, on Monday, he announced that the scholarships will be to study at Icon University in Cotonou. He said the gesture is in commemoration of his wife and three sons’ birthdays.
To commemorate the birthday of my wife & 3 of my sons I am offering a scholarship to 300 Nigerian students to Icon University in the Republic of Benin. This is the top private university in Cotonou & they have just awarded me an honorary doctorate degree. I am deeply humbled.

However, his gesture has brought some backlash as some of his followers questioned the profile of the school, saying it would have been better to offer scholarships to Nigerian universities.
So you want to pay for the over bloated award by sentencing 300 unsuspecting Nigeria students to half-baked education, abi? Why not give the scholarship to only 50 students in Covenant, Igbinidion, Badcok, ABUU or Madonna universities if you value quality to quantity.

This is a slap on Nigeria as a nation. Why do we keep underrating ours? Why can’t you send them to Nigerian universities since you have the money? Most of this schools have side effect at the end. Most are not recognised. Ask some students did their BSc there from last 3 years.

Gutter University that produces their graduates in less than 6 months is honouring a gutter misfit like you,a case of square peg in square hole. By the way hope they did not cheat because the last time someone I knew got that award it cost her just 30000 Naira. How much did u pay

He wouldnt fight for Oduduwa. All he does is endless sermon on the mount and no action. He elugised Abba kyria at death.Same Kyria he pretended to be criticising when he lived.I am seeing his relocation to Dantukpa area of Cotonou as the Fulani heat intensifies.
