Pandemonium erupted on Friday after fire gutted the headquarters of car manufacturer, Toyota, situated in western Japan.
The fire was said to have started from the technology development division of the company.
A company spokeswoman confirmed that all employees had been evacuated and no one was injured.
She added that company was investigating the cause of the fire.
Japan’s public broadcaster, NHK, showed images of people leaving the building but there appeared to be little or no sign of smoke.
Toyota City is about 320 kilometres (200 miles) west of Tokyo, the Japanese capital and near the city of Nagoya.
