Senate President Bukola Saraki Tuesday returns to the Code of Conduct Tribunal, CCT, for the continuation of his trial for false and anticipatory assets declaration. Saraki has level an allegation of bias against, and, currently, contesting the suitability, of tribunal chairman Dalandi Umar to continue with the case.
Meanwhile, a forgery case against Saraki and his deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu will not begin, as stated, at the Federal High Court, Abuja, on Tuesday.
A report quoting court officials said the bailiffs were unsuccessful in their bid to serve Saraki and Ekweremadu with summons.
Aside the top senate leaders, others charged with the offence are a former Clerk to the National Assembly, Salisu Maikasu, and his deputy, Benedict Efeturi. They were said to have forged the Senate Standing Rules, with which the two leaders were elected in the Senate.
