Former World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) wrestler, James Harris, popularly known as Kamala, has died at the age of 70.
WWE confirmed his death on their official web page, but did not mention the cause of his death.
However, according to a Facebook post by Kenny Casanova, the writer, who co-authored Harris’s autobiography, the ex-wrestler died from coronavirus.
Harris, who performed in the ring as Kamala, made his WWF debut in 1984, the WWE website said.
In a career that spanned more than two decades, he fought many wrestling superstars, including Hulk Hogan, The Undertaker and Andre the Giant.
Standing at six feet seven inches, and weighing 380 pounds, fans also knew him as “The Ugandan Giant.”
He was characterized by wearing a mask, warpaint and a loincloth.
Other wrestlers have also paid tributes to him on social media.
