Col. Marc Humbert has commended President Muhammadu Buhari’s fight against insurgent group, boko haram. He said this at the Nigerian Army Language Institute, Ovim, Isuikwato Local Government Area of Abia state. The French Defence Attache had visited the institute to strengthen the study of french language among Nigerian military officers. Humbert also reiterated the François Hollande led government’s desire to assist Nigeria in its struggle against terorism. He said: “We are a close ally right now in this fight and in the future.” He however encouraged the Federal Government to strengthen its ties with neighbouring french countries. According to him, this was necessary to help combat the insurgency effectively. Col. Joseph Ajanaku, Commandant of the institute, thanked Humbert and the french government for identifying with the institute. The French Government, through its Defence Attache, promised to continue to support Nigeria in its fight against terrorism.
