Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State has said the state government will seek redress in court after the demolition of Rainbow Town Central Mosque in the Trans-Amadi Area of Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.
In a statement by Abba Anwar, Ganduje’s Chief Press Secretary, the governor said the demolition ordered by Governor Nyesom Wike is sad and shocking while promising “legal action against this demolition of the Mosque as well contest it with appropriate authorities for redress”
“We received this information with high degree of shock. And I am assuring the general public that, all necessary action against this demolition will be taken through appropriate authorities.”
“As government, we have started touching appropriate quarters against the demolition,” the statement read in part.
However, Ganduje has urged Muslims and Christians to continue to live in peace. He urged them to go about their normal businesses.
