Mohammed Danjuma, a zonal officer in the office of the Auditor-General of the Federation, has been murdered and all the money in his account stolen.
The gang was said to have bought a Mazda car with the money.
The police said the car has been recovered and some suspects arrested. They are: Chukwuebuka Obiekulia, aka Ebuka-Jesus, 25; Sadiq Abubakar, aka Alhaji or Doggy, 21; Daniel Owowo, 26; Friday Musa, aka Afra, 20; and John Shedrach, 24.
They were arrested by detectives from the Federal Capital Territory Police Command at their hideout in Tasha 1, Gwagwa, between May 20 and 27, 2020.
Danjuma’s remains were found in the Gwagwa-Kagini area on March 16, 2020. He was said to have boarded the suspects’ vehicle from Berger en-route Tipper Garage, Katampe. He was attacked with a wheel spanner and dispossessed of his valuables.
Ajuguri Manzah told The Punch that two Mazda cars were recovered from the suspects and investigation is ongoing.
