Femi Fani-Kayode, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has said that the only reason he would support the hate speech bill is if it is made retrospective.
He added that President Muhammadu Buhari; Bola Tinubu, National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC); Lai Mohammed, Minister of Information and Culture; and Festus Keyamo, Minister of State for Labour and Employment, must be hanged for their alleged hateful words over the years.
Fani-Kayode also said Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State and Rotimi Amaechi, Minister of Transportation, must be hanged.
I will support the Hate Speech Bill if its provisions are made retroactive & if its first victims are Buhari, Bola Tinubu, Lai Mohammed, Nasir El Rufai, Festus Keyamo & Rotimi Amaechi. Promise to hang them first for their hateful words over the years & the Bill gets my support.

The former aviation minister has been critical of the government of Buhari. He recently criticised Vice President Yemi Osinbajo for saying,”Buhari is gracious enough to allow us to have Christian worship behind his kitchen”.
“Slave-man talking! This man has lost all sense of shame & he does not have any self-respect or dignity left.Christians worship behind Buhari’s kitchen & we should be grateful???” Fani-Kayode wrote on Twitter.
