Sunday Adelaja, the founder and senior pastor of the Embassy of the Blessed Kingdom of God for All Nations, has said Nigerian Christians are foolish.
He said this in a video posted on his Facebook wall on Friday. He explained that the Christians in Nigeria have been bewitched by selfish pastors who use them to acquire more wealth.
Adelaja gave an example of a student who gave 10% of his school fees as tithe saying such act reeks of stupidity and foolishness. The Ukraine-based preacher did not spare the pastor who advised the students to do so, saying he is selfish and misleading the church of God.
He also said pastors of today have failed to let their members know that tithe is not to be collected from the poor and vulnerable. While lamenting the stupidity in the church, he revealed that a banker friend had told him such pastors had billions of naira in their accounts.
Adelaja also condemned church members who, rather than go to work, attend early morning services and share tracts afterwards. He labelled it foolishness saying such people could not feed themselves but have placed their hope in God for miracles.
