Femi Fani-Kayode, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has alleged that someone is making money from the continued captivity of Leah Sharibu by Boko Haram.
He stated that the person is collecting money in the abducted schoolgirl’s name. Writing on Twitter, the former minister said he got wind of the information on Sunday and is doing his research to ascertain the information.
Fani-Kayode added that the situation is run by a Kaduna-based operation. He vowed to expose it once he finalises his investigation.
There is someone that is making money from the Leah Sharibu matter and collecting money from others in her name. This is despicable. Information was passed to me this evening which shocked me. Still doing my research but once I confirm that it is true I will write about it.

…For the record this has nothing to do with @renoomokri‘s #FreeLeahSharibu movement. It is to do with a nasty little Kaduna-based scam operation which needs to be exposed and which I am still investigating. Once I am ready I will expose them. More on this later.

Leah Sharibu was abducted, along with 109 other students, from Government Girls Science and Technical School in Dapchi, Yobe State, On February 18, 2018 by Boko Haram.
However in March, the terrorists group returned 104 of the girls after negotiations with the Federal Government. They said Leah Sharibu was not freed because she refused to renounce Christianity and embrace Islam.
