Spain national team head coach, Robert Moreno, has said he will step down from the role should Luis Enrique ever wish to return.
Moreno took over from the former Barcelona boss full-time earlier this year when he stepped down due to his nine-year-old daughter’s illness, who tragically passed away last week from bone cancer.
“If Luis Enrique wants to return one day, then I take a step to the side,” Moreno told reporters, as cited by Marca.
“It has been a difficult week. We will try to give a tiny joy in a very bad moment. It is the only thing we can do.”
Spain travel to Romania on Thursday before hosting Faroe Islands on Sunday as they continue their qualification campaign for the 2020 European Championships.
