Festus Okoye, the national commissioner of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has warned party agents against the disruption of Rivers collation results.
He said any agent of the various political parties that plans to disrupt the process will be taken out of the collation centre.
“If any individual or agent of any political party wants to disrupt the process, that person will be taken out of the collation centre”.
Okoye stated this on Channels Television’s breakfast Programme, Sunrise Daily.
According to him, the commission is determined to conclude the electoral process in the state.
He explained that the officials involved in the result collations are experienced and have the mandate of the commission to ensure that the processes are concluded.
He also noted that domestic and international observers are well represented at the ongoing collation centre as well as the media.
During the result collation, he said that agents of the various parties will be given an opportunity to voice their opinion but not in a disruptive manner.
INEC had on March 10 announced the suspension of all electoral processes in the state.
