This was announced by Professor James Apam, the Kogi State Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), at the collation of the election results in Lokoja, the state capital, on Sunday.
According to the Kogi REC, the deceased, who was a student of the Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, lost his life in the incident while carrying election materials to Ibaji Local Government Area of the state on Saturday.
He, however, did not mention the name of the victim.
