Inter Milan have completed the permanent signing of striker Alexis Sanchez from Manchester United on a three-year deal.
The Chile international, 31, joined the Serie A side on a season-long loan in August 2019.
“FC Internazionale Milano announce that Alexis Sanchez has joined the Nerazzurri on a free transfer. The Chilean forward has signed a permanent contract with the Club until 30 June 2023,” a statement on Inter Milan’s website published on Thursday read.
Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, had said on Wednesday Alexis Sanchez’s move to Inter Milan had been made permanent.
“I can confirm that Alexis will be confirmed as an Inter player on Thursday.
“Alexis has had a good time over there, he’s a good player, so we wish him all the best,” Solskjaer told BT Sport.
Sanchez played 45 games for United after joining from Arsenal in 2018, scoring just five goals.
He becomes the third player to join Inter from United in the past 12 months, with striker Romelu Lukaku and midfielder Ashley Young having made similar switches.
