IPOB Leader, Nnamdi Kanu, Loses Father

Eze Israel Kanu, father of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has died. at the age of 86 years.

Until his death, he was the traditional ruler of Afara Ukwu Umuahia community. His death comes four months after the death of his wife, Ugoeze Sally Kanu.

Eze Kanu had not been seen in the public since September 2017, after a detachment of soldiers raided his palace.

John Okiyi Kalu, the Abia State commissioner for information, has described Kanu’s death as a huge loss to the state.
