It Was An Advert, Salawa Abeni Speaks On Reunion With Kollington 

Veteran musician, Salawa Abeni, has said the reported reunion between her and Kollington Ayinla, her former husband, was an advert and nothing serious.

Recently, pictures of the veteran musicians wrapped in a tight hug surfaced online. Many of their fans were excitement as they felt it signified a reunion between the ex-couple who have a son between them.

The two Fuji giants got married in the 1980’s, but their marriage crashed.

But in an interview with PUNCH, Abeni maintained that the alleged reunion was just for an advert.

“If this interview is about my alleged reunion with Kollington, I am not ready to say anything about it. It was just an advertisement. I don’t have time for things like that.”

The ‘Queen of Waka’, who also spoke on her current project, she said; “I am working on a body of work at the moment and it will address the situation of things in Nigeria at the moment, especially the state of insecurity. I feel we cannot continue like this and something has to be done. It also contains a lot of groovy tunes.”

The singer, who took a break from the music industry to attend to her health, stated that making a comeback was not tough for her.

“It is by the grace of God. That is the job I have done for most of my life, so returning to it wasn’t difficult. There is nothing we do, as human beings, that God doesn’t know about.”
