Iwobi Ruled Out Until Next Year

Super Eagles forward, Alex Iwobi, has been ruled out of action until 2020, with a hamstring injury.

The former Arsenal player missed Everton’s Boxing Day 1-0 victory over Burnley, after he was forced off 11 minutes into the game against his former side last week, which ended 0-0.

The 23-year-old has reportedly been nursing the problem, and may not play a further role for the Toffees this year, as he is set to be sidelined for about ‘two to three weeks.’

“Alex Iwobi is not going to play in the next games,” Carlo Ancelotti, the new manager told Everton TV.

“He is going to rest for two or three weeks, then start [training] with the team.”

Iwobi has made 20 appearances across all competitions for the Merseyside club, scoring two goals since leaving the Emirates Stadium last summer.

Everton, who are winless in their last three games, will hope to halt that the unimpressive form under their new manager at Goodison Park.
