Why I Killed My Wife – Man

A 40-year-old man, Femi Adebowale, in a statement, told the Ogun state Police he beat his wife Kuburat Adebowale, to death because she was cheating on him.

According to the Ogun state Police spokesperson, ASP Abimbola Oyeyemi, the victim’s younger brother, Shakiru Alao, had lodged a complaint at the Agbado Police Division that his elder sister had been beaten to death by her husband.

The DPO in charge of the station, CSP Sunday Omonijo, led his men to the scene, 15, Campbell Street, Agbado in Ifo Local Government, where the suspect was  arrested.

The suspect, however, alleged that the deceased had been cheating on him over a long period, alleging that she even dated their next door neighbour.

Shedding light on what transpired on the fateful day, Adebowale said his late wife had asked him for money for her younger brother’s naming and he gave her a N10, 000.

But, according to him, fight later ensued when the deceased rejected the money on the ground that it was not enough and insisted on more. She, however, slumped and died during the fisticuffs, he said.

The body of the deceased, the PPRO said, had been deposited at the morgue of Ifo General Hospital for autopsy as the Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu, has ordered further investigation and prosecution of the suspect.
