Kogi Poll: Bello Chooses Chief Of Staff As Deputy – Report

Yahaya Bello, Governor of Kogi State and candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has chosen Edward David Onoja, his Chief of Staff, as his running mate for the November 16 governorship election, a report has revealed.

Onoja was cleared by the APC National Secretariat on Friday to be Governor Bello’s deputy, the Punch reports.

It was learnt that Onoja was only cleared after a meeting between Adams Oshiomhole, APC National Chairman, and President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday.

The picture of the CoS accompanied the campaign posters of Governor Bello during the APC governorship primary.

However, Kingsley Fanwo, Director-General, Media and Publicity to the Governor, said he was yet to be officially briefed on the matter.

But he confirmed that such a choice was likely made by his principal.

“Anyway, I think it’s true but I have not been officially briefed, ” Fanwo said.
