One Lagos, the tourism master brand of Lagos State Government has entered into a strategic alliance with Filmhouse, an outfit that covers cinema and film policy development in the country.
By this alliance, Filmhouse is now an official media and distribution partner for all One Lagos content and events.
Kene Mkparu, CEO of Filmhouse, said: “I am excited to partner with Lagos State through the project, our cinema business kicked off in Lagos and Lagos remains one of our most important markets. It has been very exciting learning all about the brand platform and we are strong believers in the power of narrative; this is why we are not only involved in the production, distribution and exhibition of movies, but also focused on presenting city landmarks and architectural structures that add to the tourism capital of our locations.
“The project’s partnership is a significant and important cultural alliance to us and heralds Filmhouse’s launch of the first IMAX cinema in West Africa, here in Lekki Lagos. This would be a one-of-a-kind tourism offering in Lagos (akin to Disneyworld in Orlando, Florida) and would also significantly add colours to the Lagos skyline as a unique city landmark. We are excited to work with One Lagos, as media and content partner, and we are also very keen to enable school kids and others to enjoy our educational experiences at the IMAX complex,” he said.
