Linda Ikeji, Nigeria’s celebrity blogger, has caught a flak from Omoyele Sowore, publisher of Saharareporters, for alleging the latter has been barred from travelling out of Nigeria.

Reacting to the report, titled “Lekan Fatodu’s lawyers say Sahararepoeters’ Sowore has been advised not to travel out of Nigeria” published on www. Lindaikejiblog.com, Sowore implied Ikeji was prejudiced.

“… Please rest assured that it is not true.
The Lagos CP is down and out, but they need a cop-out. Linda Ikeji is returning favors to the police because Lagos CP Owoseni saved her from Wizkid via “mediation.””, said Sowore on his Facebook. (Wizkid had taken aim at Ikeji after she published a story about the soar-away hip-hop singer)

Sowore denied he had been restricted by the authorities over a case of alleged blackmail instigated by his estranged friend, Fatodu.

“To assuage fears of all those of you (my good friends) who may be confused by the latest propaganda that I was “barred from leaving Nigeria,” …I decided that I won’t leave Nigeria, and thus rejected any reconciliation and /or “mediation “with the subject in question, because I have irreconcilable differences with the establishment that sent him on this perilous assignment.”

Although speaking in innuendo, Sowore’s “subject in question” is understood to be Lagos Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni, who the former had accused of siding with Fatodu.

However, Ikeji balanced the report many hours after by publishing a rebuttal from Sowore’s lawyer, Inibehe Effiong.
