This was disclosed in a statement by Google’s Communication and Public Affairs Manager, Anglophone West Africa, Taiwo Kola-Ogunlade on Thursday. He said searches this week ranged from the highly competitive US elections to the newly launched social networking site of the famous blogger. “Internet users wanted to know things like the latest forecasts, what time winners would be announced, and even the newest gaffes from either of the two contestants, Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. “Up until the day of elections, citizens wanted to know who was likely to become the US President,” he said. Ogunlade also said the free Black Friday Sales on Jumia, a retail giant in Nigeria alongside other exciting news got the attention of people. The Google Manager said other sites visited included “Stop the rumour: Kogi’s helmsman is alive.” Google Trend allows one see how popular searches have been over a period of time on Google.
